On Memorial Day, Monday May 26, the town held its annual Memorial Day observances.
The public was invited to join the traveling caravan, starting from the Public Safety Building and visiting each cemetery in town. The caravan included members of town government, the Police and Fire-EMS departments, the Boy Scouts, and the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Flowers were placed, with a short service, at the South Cemetery, Friends/Quaker Cemetery, Pan Cemetery and West Cemetery. After the visits were completed, a closing ceremony was held at Memorial Field/Veterans Park with light refreshments donated by the Parks & Rec Commission.
