The Nashoba School Committee’s final meetings before a summer break were devoted to crucial issues the district could face well beyond September. While the commanding topic of the June 29 and July 7 meetings was how to handle thousands of dollars in unexpected Facilities repairs, the SC also made crucial decisions on researching the district’s finances and hiring key staff.

Nashoba Valley Winery is at risk of losing its pouring or farming licenses and continuing to operate as it has for the past 16 years if an amendment is not passed by the state senate by the end of this month.

The Nashoba School District could be responsible for thousands of dollars in unexpected building repairs, and at its June 29 meeting, the Nashoba School Committee began tackling how to sort out what is owed and how to pay for it. To help grapple with these issues, the SC voted to add meeting time to its already-scheduled July 6 Collective Bargaining Workshop.
The Bolton Parks and Recreation Commission, together with Bolton Loco, sponsored a Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday, July 2. The event included a Bike Decorating/Kids’ Parade from the Bolton Public Library to the Florence Sawyer School, the Lincoln Minutemen Reenactors, a kids race with awards and a Lawn Tractor race. On Monday, July 4, the first raising of the American Flag on the Bolton Town Common was organized by members of the Bolton Conservation Trust. The Bolton Boy and Girl Scout groups assisted. Thank you to Ken and Deb Horton for the photos of the event.
