The Nashoba Girls Tennis team won the District Championships on June 9 when they defeated Shrewsbury 3-2. The team, with a 19-1 overall record going into the post-season, moved on to the state division semi-finals. Facing Western MA champions Longmeadow, the Chieftains racked up a 5-0 victory and the chance to compete in the state finals. While the team has been led all season by senior Jillian Winer, the Central Mass. Individual singles champion, the doubles team of senior Cayla Murphy and junior Keagan Castles came through to help secure the June 13 win. Additional victories went to senior captain Emma Picaro, doubles team Kyra Fasano (senior) and Meredith Curran (sophomore), and sophomore Ariane Sanjar.
