THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE IN BOLTON
Freedom’s Way Hidden Treasures 2016 is a region-wide celebration of the natural, cultural and historical “treasures” located within the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area. Bolton, which is part of that area, will display as its Hidden Treasure the town clerk’s recording of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This historic document will be on display Tuesday, May 17, through Saturday, May 21, at the Bolton Public Library, 738 Main St., as Bolton celebrates the 240th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The display can be viewed at the library Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, contact the Bolton Historical Society at 978-779-6392 or [email protected]. Nashoba Prom and After Prom
Attendees to After Prom Party can drop off a change of clothes at Nashoba Regiobal High School on Saturday, May 21, from 12noon-2pm. There will be changing areas and we will hang your dress/tux. Please come help decorate and transform the the High School.
Parents, neighbors, NRSD families: The After Prom Party needs your help even if you do not have an NRSD student. BOLTON GERANIUM SALE
The Bolton Historical Society will hold its annual Bolton geranium sale at Sawyer House, 676 Main St. in Bolton, on Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. until they are all sold out. CAR WASH TO SUPPORT DI STATE CHAMPS
The Massachusetts first-place Structure Team will hold a car wash on Sunday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at Nashoba Regional High School to help fund the hometown Destination Imagination team on their trip to the Destination Imagination Global Finals Tournament in Knoxville, Tenn. Meet the team, find out what DI is all about, and have your car washed and vacuumed. There will even be a few Instant Challenges for you to try while your car is getting spic and span!

. The Bolton Public Library will be buzzing with activity on Wednesday, May 25, 10:30 a.m.: Buzz Lightyear will be visiting the library for a special storytime! State Representative Kate Hogan will host office hours in Bolton Thursday, May 26, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Bolton Public Library, 738 Main St. in Bolton. All are invited to stop by with questions or ideas. No appointment is necessary; meetings will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Shredding Party
Shred your personal or business papers and documents safely on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Bolton Town Common – 673 Main Street. The time: From 9 AM to noon. The cost: Only $5 per banker’s box (12x15x10) or equivalent. This is the sixth year the Friends of Bolton Seniors (FOBS) is holding this event. All proceeds fund programs and services for Bolton’s seniors and are tax deductible.
This is the perfect time to shred your documents – tax season is over and it’s time for spring cleaning. It will be possible to shred almost anything: all types of papers and documents, CDs and DVDs, credit cards. There is no need to remove staples, paper and binder clips, or rubber bands.

Friends of the Library to hold Book Sale
The Friends of the Library will hold their semiannual book sale on Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Sunday, June 5 from 11-2. Location is the Houghton Building, 697 Main St. There are over 10,000 books sorted and “not picked over.” Games, puzzles, LP’s, CDs and DVDs.
The book sale is the Friends’ largest fundraiser. Proceeds from the sale support programs, events, online magazines, museum passes, and our online newsletter Wowbrary.
BOLTON YOUTH BASEBALL/SOFTBALL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Bolton Youth Baseball will hold its annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament on Monday, June 6, at 8:15 a.m., at Wedgewood Pines in Stow. The event will include raffle prizes, such as TVs, tablets, golf gear, and gift certificates to local restaurants and stores, and will feature a 50/50 raffle, where you could take home half of the pot collected! A dinner will follow the tournament. The cost is $135 per golfer, $540 per foursome. There is also a sponsorship opportunity for local businesses, at a cost of $100 to sponsor a hole.
