PAINTING EXHIBIT AT THE LIBRARY

Bolton Public Library, 738 Main St. in Bolton, will host an exhibit of abstract works by Bolton artist Brenda Evans from now to Aug. 29. The series features works created with an opalescent, reactive paint to which resin is applied, producing a glass-like shining finish. The collection called “Volcanic Action” brings to mind an awe-inspiring volcanic eruption with molten lava pouring through fissures in the earth. Other collections in the exhibit of colorful abstract images include “Summer Heat Wave” and “Fish Tails.” Evans is a member of Bolton Artisans Guild.

FRIENDS OF THE OXBOW NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE PROGRAMS

We will also cover the history of this national refuge during the walk along the Nashua River where much more history took place among the Native Americans, early settlers and the animals that now call this home. This is an easy walk which loops back to the parking lot and takes about one and a half hours. Families are welcome. Bring snacks, water, and insect repellant. Meet at the parking lot at the entrance to the Oxbow NWR at the end of Still River Depot Road in Harvard.
