Police Log: June 24 – 30

  •  This week police made 126 traffic stops, which resulted in 41 citations, 80 warnings and five summonses. They also fielded 10 calls about disabled vehicles, helped one motorist regain entry to a locked car, and issued one parking ticket.
  • The Bolton ambulance squad responded to nine medical emergencies this week and took nine people to the hospital.

Monday, June 24:

10:23 a.m.  A resident stopped at the station to speak with an officer about unwanted phone calls.

4:25 p.m.  Someone called to complain that three dirt bikes were in the roadway on Hudson Road. The bikes were gone when police arrived.

6:17 p.m.  A 911 caller reported a minor collision between two vehicles at Colonial Candies. Police, who say that the mirrors on the vehicles collided, assisted with the paperwork.

Tuesday, June 25:

8:45 a.m.  A motorist called to complain about a car being driven erratically on Ballville Road. The vehicle was not in the area when police arrived.

10:16 a.m.  A caller reported that a vehicle had struck a “Yield” sign on East End Road and left the scene. Police did not locate the vehicle, but notified the Department of Public Works that the sign needed to be replaced.

4:50 p.m.  Someone called 911 to report horses loose in a backyard on Main Street. Officers assisted in rounding up the animals.

Wednesday, June 26:

3:22 p.m.  Maynard police called requesting that Bolton officers advise a resident about a wallet they recovered.

4:09 p.m.  A resident called from the library to report a lost dog. The Animal Control officer was notified.

4:06 p.m.  A motorist reported a van being driven erratically on Wattaquadock Hill Road and said that it had just pulled into the parking lot at Fotini’s Restaurant. The van was gone when police arrived.

Thursday, June 27:

1:14 p.m.  Someone reported a single-car accident on Main Street. Police say the car went off the road for unknown reasons and struck a utility pole. The driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and the car was towed.

8:06 p.m.  A resident called to complain about fireworks being set off within earshot of Annie Moore Road. Police who investigated neither heard nor saw any signs of fireworks.

9:04 p.m.  Milford police called to request that Bolton officers check on a vehicle belonging to a Bolton resident that was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident in their town. Bolton police were unable to locate the vehicle.

9:43 p.m.  Someone stopped at the station to speak with an officer about text messages received.

Friday, June 28:

10:51 a.m.  A patrol officer stopped on South Bolton Road to help some turtles across the street.

5:30 p.m.  A 911 caller reported a two-car accident on Main Street, near Clinton Savings Bank. Police say both cars were headed westbound when one tried to merge left and struck another car. No one was injured, and neither car was towed. No citations were issued.

5:55 p.m.  Someone called 911 to report a two-car accident on Main Street, near the intersection with Sugar Road. Police say damage was minor, requiring only a paperwork exchange.

10:50 p.m.  A resident on Long Hill Road reported hearing fireworks. Police heard them as well. They tracked down the revelers who were setting them off and told them to stop.

Saturday, June 29:

5:41 a.m.  Someone called to report a large tree branch in the roadway on Warner Road. Officers moved the limb aside and notified the DPW to haul it away.

2:52 p.m.  A motorist reported a large vehicle being driven aggressively at the intersection of Main Street and Still River Road, headed eastbound. Police did not make contact with the vehicle.

5:16 p.m.  A caller reported someone trespassing at the scout camp on Hudson Road. Police spoke to the person, who had been unaware he was trespassing.

9:47 p.m.  A patrol officer stopped at the high school to check on an occupied vehicle parked there, and advised the occupants to move along.

Sunday, June 30:
